Our Mission Partners
St Marks partners with missionaries dedicated to spreading the Good News of Jesus and helping people in need within Australia and around the world..
Church Missionary Society (CMS)
CMS equips and supports missionaries working in churches, theological education, among university students, in medical development roles, or english teaching in over 30 countries.
St Marks CMS link missionaries are Pedro and Joy Oliveira-Woolmer. Pedro hopes to work with the CBU to encourage and equip local students to stand firm in the faith and speak boldly about Jesus despite hostility towards Christianity in Uruguay. Joy looks forward to building relationships with female students and other mums with the hope of sharing Jesus and growing in faith with them. They have a son, Mark and a little girl due in November.
Bush Church Aid (BCA)
BCA supports ministry in remote and regional Australia. Often this is in places such as mining towns where the population is transient and it is hard to grow a congregation large enough to support a minister. St Marks BCA link church is the Lightning Ridge Community Church. This church is part of the Anglican Diocese of Armidale. We regularly pray the congregation as they seek to share Christ with their community.
Anglican Aid is an overseas relief and aid agency of the Anglican Church of Australia, committed to excel in the provision of Christian aid to vulnerable communities throughout the world.
Our support of this ministry enables Anchor RE to employ paid Special Religious Education teachers at Mackellar Girls' High School, Balgowlah Boys' High and Manly Selective High School. As a result, each week hundreds of teenagers in the district are helped to grow in knowledge of God, Christ, the Bible and their faith.
Freshwater Surf Life Saving Chaplaincy
St Marks is committed to prayer and financial support of the SLSC chaplain, Rev Mark Gilbert, and the SLSC Assistant Chaplain, Andrea Bohm. We want to ask God to work through Mark and Andrea as they support the many club volunteers. We also pray for club members which they serve.
St Marks host an Anglicare Clothing Bin. It is one of the most popular bins on the Northern Beaches. We run an annual Food & Toy drive to support Anglicare. Many members of the Freshwater community, especially at two local primary schools and a Kindergarten support this campaign. We also support Anglicare appeals on an ad hoc basis.
Pato & Dagmar Oyarzun
Pato leads a church plant in Vina del Mar, Chile. We are regular prayer supporters of this church plant. It has been exciting to partner in the establishment of this church over the years, including a second congregation in a neighbouring suburb in 2018.
